Jesus Prom

Jesus Prom

When you put on a luncheon or a banquet, don't invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors. For they will invite you back, and that will be your only reward. Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you. - Jesus, Luke 14:12-14

Put on your dancing shoes and favorite WKU apparel because on JANUARY 20, 2012, we will Paint the Town Red. From 6:30pm - 10pm, we will dance the night away as we celebrate the lives of our special needs brothers and sisters. Special guests will accompany us and we need people to serve in various ways. What will it look like when the church loves the world?"

Jesus Prom is a themed event held by Hillvue Heights Church for physically and mentally challenged individuals age 16 and older. This is an annual event, and our first Jesus Prom was held February 18, 2011 with the theme "Welcome to the Kingdom." This event had about 150 attendees, and they were treated like kings and queens for the day. They were pampered by approximately 300 volunteers who served as escorts, photographers, decorators, beauticians, entertainers, and more.
