What is podcasting?
Podcasting is a way of getting your favorite audio content (such as sermons, radio shows, or music) automatically. Once you've subscribed to a site's podcast, your computer will automatically check for updates and download them when your computer is idle. You can also choose to pre-load these programs onto your Ipod or music player. This means that if you subscribe to several podcasts that you like, then leave your computer and Ipod connected overnight, you can pick the ipod up on the way out of the door in the morning and each day you'll have fresh new material to listen to.
How do I subscribe?
You will need either Itunes (which is available for free at Itunes.com) or a feed reader such as Feedburner. Some browsers also include built in feed readers. You'll simply need to find the option within that program to subscribe to a feed, and enter www.hillvue.com/sundaypodcast.xml as the address. In Itunes, select "subscribe to podcast" under the "Advanced" menu.
What sermons come in the podcast?
Typically you'll receive one new sermon each week from one of our Sunday morning worship services. Pastor Steve Ayers delivers most of these, but from time to time you'll hear another pastor on staff or a guest speaker.
Do I need an Ipod?
No. Although podcasting gets its name from the Ipod, you do not need one to enjoy podcasts. The sermons will download to your computer, and you can listen to them at your leisure from your computer.
Where do I get this podcast?
If you have Itunes installed, you can click on this podcast link to subscribe directly using Itunes. If you do not have Itunes, or prefer to use an alternate feed reader, the podcast address is http://www.hillvue.com/sundaypodcast.xml. If you try to look at it with your browser, it may look like nonsense unless your browser includes a feed reader or parses xml. It's best to highlight the address, copy it, and paste it into Itunes or your RSS feed reader.
