This is how we do it - Practicing our faith in the kingdom of God: Hillvue Heights Church strongly identifies itself with the structure of the New Testament Church found in Acts 2:41-47... They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. The Acts 2 Church was committed to at least five faith practices that we are committed to also. THEY - Were devoted to the apostles' teaching Were devoted to fellowship Were devoted to prayer Were filled with awe...saw miracles Were committed to meeting each others' needs WE - Devote ourselves to biblical TEACHING Devote ourselves to FELLOWSHIP Devote ourselves to PRAYER Devote ourselves to WORSHIP Devote ourselves to SERVICE through meeting others' needs We call these faith practices THE BIG 5 and they are how we fulfill the mission of CONNECTION, HEALING and DEVELOPMENT THE BIG FIVE WILL KEEP YOU ALIVE!
