Where do you go when you need wisdom? A trusted friend or family member? A pastor? God? Through His servant James, the Holy Spirit calls out to us: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault" (James 1:5 NIV). The context of this statement comes in the midst of James' discussion of trials in the life of a believer. What do we do when things don't go our way? How do we respond when the world would call us to live one way and Christ would call us to live another? What is our answer when we face seemingly insurmountable obstacles?
It is no secret that we live in a time of uncertainty. We live in a time when many of our foundations have been shaken, but we live in a time in which the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of Moses, and most importantly , the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ still stands as mightily as ever before. And He has given us an incomparable gift. This God, who is God over all generations, God over all creation, the God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, has spoken to us, and He has given us His wisdom in the words of Scripture. The question is simple: will we embrace His Word and live in it?
On behalf of Pastor Steve and the pastoral staff, I personally invite you to Bible Study, and as you attend, I invite you seek God for the wisdom that He alone can give--but that He alone will give--generously to all, without finding fault. We invite you to come, to drink deeply of His Word, and to embrace the life that He has given us in Christ our Lord. If you have any questions, please contact me via the website or at (270) 842-0012. We look forward to seeing you in Bible Study this Spring!
In Christ,
